How do I use a new SIM card in my BlackBerry Phone

You will need a SIM that's registered with the provider with an Blackberry Service Add-on to be able to use BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) and BlackBerry emails. You will then need to inform the service provider your BlackBerry account (if you have one) and your device PIN which is locate in your handset under Setup > option > device > Device and status information.

If you don't have a blackberry account, you can register for one after you have put the SIM in the BlackBerry and the service provider have register your device on their blackberry network (usually automatically after you switch on the device). To register a blackberry account you can go to the provider's BlackBerry portal. i.e. optus.blackberry.com.au or telstra.blackberry.com.au and etc. You will need the device PIN and the IMEI number and your email login detail to register.

Once you have successfully register your BlackBerry account, your email should start coming in in about 3 minutes.

If you already have a BlackBerry account, simply login to you account through the provider's portal to update your new service number.

Hope this helps!!

Would you like to make perfect rice , every time? Made in Thailand by National/Panasonic, this attractive, modern rice cooker (model SR-TE) is all you’ll ever need. At left is the new appearance (January 2008) simulated stainless steel instead of floral. All functions are the same as the pre-2008 model. The floral design shown below has been discontinued.

The Hamilton Beach is not a fancy device. You put in the rice, rinse it, fill up the water to the appropriate line on the side and hit “white rice” or “brown rice”. Then it beeps when it’s done and you have fantastic rice just waiting for you. If you want to pre-soak the rice before cooking (which makes for much better end result), you can use the “delay start” to let it soak a while first. Unfortunately, the smallest increment the delay start does is one hour, so you’ll be waiting a little while longer for it to be done. But the final result will be worth it.

The development of electric rice cookers began in the Taisho era (1912-1926), but it wasn’t until 1955 that the first automatic rice cooker for household use went on sale in Japan. Toshiba was the company that made this cooker which spent five years developing creating a system which they called "double-pot indirect cooking" by heating a cup of water which is poured into the outer pot, and the machine to turn off once all the water has evaporated signaling the rice was ready. It absorbs a great deal of water in the process, expanding its volume and using up the cooking water.

It’s also an order of magnitude easier to clean a rice cooker than a cooking pot. If you cook rice perfectly, then it’s not too hard to do the washing up. But God help you if you burn it. As the Sweethome’s own Ganda Suthivarakom put it, “I’ve burnt rice in the pot plenty of times, especially with a cheap pot, and there are few things more onerous to clean than burnt rice.” You’ll never have to face that with a rice cooker—they all have non-stick coatings so a quick wipe with hot, soapy water does the job. How they work

Add some salt to the water (you can leave that out if you’re watching your salt) but go easy because remember a rice cooker cooks by evaporation. Then add about 1 tsp oil to stop the foaming, close the lid and set to "cook." I open the lid and stir a few times while cooking to keep it separated. I also try to catch it before it switches to "warm" so it doesn’t brown on the bottom. It’s a bit of a learning curve with times and water amounts, but once you have that all down, you’ll find it’s easy, quick, no waiting for big pots of water to boil, no draining (the worst part for me) and it doesn’t heat up your kitchen which is great in the summer!!! Place seasoned fish or fish sauce into the rice cooker. Turn the rice cooker on its lowest setting. If the cooker does not offer setting selections, turn rice cooker on to begin preparation. If using a whole fish, check for doneness after 12 minutes, then recheck every two minutes or until the flesh near the top fin of the fish easily flakes when poked with a fork. If using fish fillets, check after 10 minutes or until the fish easily flakes when poked. If using fish fillets less than 1-inch thick, check after five minutes, and recheck every two minutes. A rice cooker or rice steamer is a kitchen appliance used to automate and simplify the process of cooking rice Traditionally, rice is cooked by measuring a specific amount of rice and water and applying heat for a specific amount of time. The process is deceptively simple. Rice cookers provide a simple alternative. Although rice cookers do not necessarily speed the cooking process, the consumer’s involvement in cooking rice with a rice cooker is significantly reduced and simplified.
